Learning A - Z is a fantastic website that offers a wide variety of teacher resources for writing, science and reading. It also allows us the ability to individualize instruction for students based on content, reading level and specific skills.
Each elementary student across Sterling is able to have an account to the Raz-Plus portion of the website. If you are not sure how to log in or set up student accounts, please contact your Elementary Subject Leader or your regional Curriculum Representative.
Please become familiar with this website and how to navigate it. Be aware of the types of resources there are available to you in the different subscriptions within the website. Beyond the ability to sign specific reading assignments to students through the Raz-Plus subscription, I want to highlight the resources for writing instruction. Teachers have access to specific leveled lessons for different types of writing genres. There are also leveled lessons for letter writing which is a great resource to use when completing Pen Pal letters each month.
For East and West Region, within Raz-Plus, there are shared files created for Unit 2 and 3 that has titles related to the unit themes already compiled. You will log in, go to Raz-Plus and then click on File Cabinet. On the left hand side you will see My Files. Once you click on My Files you will see the folders that have been created with resources for upcoming units. You can also create additional folders for yourself based on your specific class needs.
I know many teachers are actively using Learning A - Z on a consistent basis. If you would like to be partnered with a staff member who can show you the benefits of the website and share how they currently use it in their classroom, please reach out to me. In addition, there are many training resources within the website that highlight the different features of Learning A - Z. On the lower right hand corner of the home page you will see a section for Teacher training. There are self paced e-learning courses as well as recorded webinars about all the different sections within the Learning A - website.
Learning A-Z is an excellent resource Sterling has invested in and we hope you find it to be a beneficial and effective resource to use as teacher and with your students. Please reach out to your elementary SL or your regional Curriculum Representative for support or any questions you have about Learning A - Z
